Twin Valley Raiders Advance to Berks County Semi Finals

The stage was set for the Berks County Interscholastic Athletics Association High School Girls Soccer quarterfinals in a match between the Lady Raiders of Twin Valley and the Lady Trojans of Tulpehocken.

High School Girls Soccer: Twin Valley Beats Tulpehocken in BCIAA Quarterfinals

Today the Raiders were ready and would dominate the Trojans offensively and defensively. Twenty-five minutes into the half, Junior Natalie Dorsheimer found the Trojan’s net on a ball from senior Madyson Burns to score the first goal of the match.

From the first whistle, the Trojans struggled to keep pace with the Raiders who were dominant across the field. With 30 seconds left in the half, Junior Aylssa Gibson charged through multiple Tojans and served the ball up to Senior Madyson Burns who relentlessly worked the ball into Tulpehocken net to end the half, Twin Valley 2 Tulpehocken  0.

Seven minutes into the second half Senior Madyson Burns found to Natalie Dorsheimer who scored her second goal on the day for the Raiders.

With eighteen minutes left in the half on an assit from Dorsheimer, Burns found the Trojan net for the second time on the day.

Less than one minute later Burns would score her third goal of the day for the Raiders.

Playing strong defensively for the Raiders where Senior Goalie Jordan de Garay, Senior Brooke Matherson, Sophmore Taylor McVay, and Sophmore Elle Witouski.

With this win Twin Valley advances to the the BCIAA semifinals on Tuesday 10.18.16.

When asked about how she feels about advancing to the Semi Finals, Coach Lindsay Staufenberg said, “It feels awesome. ‘Awesome’ is the word. It was great to give everyone a chance to share in this win.”

Twin Valley’s Beast of the Game was Junior Natalie Dorsheimer.
Dorsheimer found the net two times to propel the raiders to victory and into the BCIAA semifinals.
