Congratulations to Ellie Norton for being selected to help design the 2018 Reading Fightin Phils “Go Green” Jersey. Each year the Reading Fightin Phils hold a jersey design competition for students, who are asked to create an energy conservation themed jersey. The winning jersey is then manufactured and worn by the Fightin Phils on “Go Green” night. This years “Go Green” game is Wednesday, June 27th at 7:05 p.m. when the Fightin Phils host the Erie SeaWolves.
Ellie, a 9th grader at Twin Valley High School, was one of five winners whose design was chosen to collaboratively create this years Fightin Phils jersey. The Fightin Phils graphics team loved the way Ellie incorporated realistic grass into her jersey design. Her images of blades of grass were replicated and used as Right & Left Sleeve Trim on the final June 27th Fightin Phils “Go Green” jersey. After the game, the student designed specialty jerseys will be auctioned and proceeds will go to the Berks Conservancy.
“I love creating and making things come to life. I enjoyed being able to exercise the design process using the skills we learned in Mr. Vanemon’s class. Applying them to this project was extra special because the final product will be produced and worn by the Reading Phils.”
In addition to the honor to contribute her design Ellie will also receive:
1 “Go Green – Energy Conservation” Jersey
4 Reserved Box Seats
4 “All-You-Can-Eat” Deck Buffet Passes
$50 Gift Card to the Fightins Team Store
Ceremonial First Pitch before the June 27th Fightin Phils Game
Ellie said she is especially looking forward to the boxed seats, “We’ve typically sat on the sidelines or it the outfield, I’m looking forward to seeing the game from a new perspective”.
